Who we are

This portal is run by JP Dog Training [registered business name/address — fill in]. For anything to do with your data, contact us at jpdogtrainingscotland@gmail.com.

What we collect

To run your training bookings and lessons, we hold:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and your dog's name
  • Details of the sessions and classes you've booked, including dates, times, and any notes we've made about them
  • Which lessons you've been assigned as homework, and whether you've completed them
  • Lessons you've marked as favourites in the portal

Why we collect it

To deliver the training services you've asked us for — booking sessions, planning classes, assigning and tracking homework — and to run the business side of that (scheduling, records, following up with you). We don't use your data for anything beyond running your training with us.

Who we share it with

We use two companies to run this portal, both of which process data on our behalf and don't use it for their own purposes: Supabase (database and sign-in) and Vercel (hosting). Your data is stored on servers in Ireland (EU). We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else.

We also don't discuss one client's bookings, names, or details with another client — what happens in your sessions stays between us and you.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and session records indefinitely, for our own reference. We don't currently have a fixed deletion schedule. You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see “Your rights” below.

For clients whose email or phone number we've stored, we check in roughly once a year to confirm we're still in touch. If it's been over 12 months since your last session, we'll either continue keeping your details or ask your permission before doing so.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:

  • Show you what data we hold about you
  • Correct anything that's wrong
  • Delete your data, where we don't have a legal or contractual reason to keep it
  • Stop using your data in a particular way, if you have concerns

To ask about any of this, email jpdogtrainingscotland@gmail.com. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page.
